Born into a long line of educators, Maria’s life has been entwined with schools from the very beginning- and being in a school setting is still where she feels most at home.  A Durham graduate, English teacher, CELTA qualified, and having experienced boarding school life from almost every angle, Maria is the ideal port of call for anyone navigating the independent boarding system.  With three children of her own, Maria is a nurturing and supportive presence who is always ready to help and problem solve, and always with a smile.

Outside of work, I am most likely to be found ferrying my children and their friends to their various clubs and activities before turning to the pool for a swim myself.   My first hand experience of all things boarding has furnished me with a solid understanding of a student’s experience from (even before) the moment they arrive in the UK, and the huge significance of the guardian role within this journey.
