Karen’s career began in the voluntary sector, providing support to travellers who suffered crimes whilst using transport networks across the country. She moved on to provide direct emotional support and practical help for victims of a range of serious crimes in central London. She also ran a service at Crown court for victims and witnesses attending giving evidence. Her work concluded with a role involving setting up support services at Coroners courts across the country.
She began training as a Gestalt Counsellor, eventually establishing a private practice several years ago. She also began working as a part-time Exam Invigilator at several London universities. She currently continues working with clients, as well as her invigilation duties at a private girls school in Surrey.

She is a mother of three – with two sons who previously graduated University, and a daughter who is currently beginning her second year at Cambridge university.
