You can entrust Sutherland Guardians with your son's or daughter's safety, as well as educational and social development. Our purpose is to provide students with a secure and caring environment during their stay in the UK. Our Guardians who live a close distance from the schools cover the whole of England. All the staff of Sutherland Education are dedicated to the welfare and happiness of every student. So too is every guardian who develops a personal interest in his or her student and ensures regular communication with parents at all times.

Above all we offer 24-hour emergency contact, and at any time you are able to call either your guardian or the main office and speak directly to Mr Sutherland or Mrs Wilson, our Co-Directors.
You are always welcome to come and meet us! Our office is only 17 minutes by train from the centre of London.

We have a range of categories of guardianship for students, offering differing degrees of involvement, so that parents or pupils themselves can select the category that best suits their requirements. Depending on the category of guardianship chosen by the parents, Sutherland Education will undertake all or some of the following responsibilities:

PASTORAL

• Be a 24 hour point of contact for parents, student, school and guardian family
• Be on call to visit in case of emergency
• Act on behalf of parents in case of emergency or crisis
• Make appropriate arrangements for medical care
• Provide personal advice and support
• Keep you informed and consult on matters concerning your son or daughter
• Establish a close liaison with you, your child and the school

• Exercise discretion regarding your son's or daughter's social activities and outings and sign consent forms for the school, if applicable
• Select suitable family for exeats, half terms and other times when your child is out of school
• Maintain contact and make any necessary changes
• Liaise with the school over holiday and exeat arrangements
• Assist with the planning of school holidays and holiday courses
• Provide holiday guardianship

• Arrange travel between airport and school
• Arrange travel to and from families
• Arrange any other travel within the UK
• Assist in the management of air tickets
• Book flights
• Assist with passport renewals and visas

• Communicate with you, the student and the school on educational matters
• Assistance in school selection when a change of school is required
• Assist with choice of subject options
• Bring to your attention any educational problems or special needs and arrange specialist advice if necessary
• Attend parent/teacher meeting and some school functions
• Provide personal guidance when applying to schools
• Provide personal guidance with University or College applications

• Manage a personal allowance account
• Arrange payment of additional fees and expenses
• Arrange for the purchase and replacement of uniform items
• Assist with purchase of mobile telephone and run telephone account
